Brahmtal Lake Trek
Situated in Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand, Brahmtal trek is a trek to the alpine lake-Brahamatal lake. This trek gives you exceptionally beautiful views of peaks and mountains like; Mt. Mana, Mt. Neelkanth, Mt. Chaukhamba, Mt. Trishul, Mt. Nanda Ghunti etc. The whole trail is covered in snow in the winter season in between November to March.
Mural Danda Trek
This trek is one of the best winter treks you can do in Dev Bhoomi Himachal. One of the most amazing and short treks in Shimla district. With an altitude of 14,000 feet, the trail is full of snow, snow-capped peaks and high-rise glaciers. This trail is well hidden in the rural area of Shimla, so it becomes more tough and adventurous for the trekkers. The route starts from a village called Sungri, the trek starts from a very thick forest of oak and cedar trees, all covered in snow. Some small meadows can also be seen in between the forests, which are covered in a blanket of snow in the winters. After a trek of about 5-6 hours, we reach a place called Ropra. Which has a large ground, which is perfect for night stay. Then after a trek of 2-3 hours, we reach the top of Mural Danda. The top of our trek depicts a grassland with a 360-degree view of snow-capped astonishing mountains. There are two temples on the summit of the trek, which are dedicated to local deities called “DEVTAS”. Himalayas always have been mystical.
Chadar Trek
Chadar trek is a winter trek which lies in Indian UT Ladakh. The temperature here falls to -20 to -35 degrees, even during the daytime. Trekkers like to compare this frozen river to ice skating rinks as hard ice layer is formed. This trek is not for beginners as it is one of the most difficult treks, because the frozen trail has a different terrain comparative to other winter treks. The temperature is too low, even during the day, the temperature stoops too low which is uncomfortable for the trekkers. This trek is of about 7-8 days at an altitude of 3850 meters. The temperature is harsh, but trust the process, you’ll get the best views where ever you’ll stay.
Chopta Trek
One of the easiest treks in the Himalayas in Uttarakhand. It is located in Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary in Rudraprayag. With an altitude of 8,000 ft, Chopta is astonishing. This trek sits in a wildlife sanctuary, so, it becomes obvious that the trek will be having a rich density of flora and fauna. You will be able to witness a large variety of Himalayan rare species of trees, flowers, birds, animals. Chopta is a small trek of just 3.5 Kms which can be done easily in 3-4 hours and you can stay for the nigh too in camps. Climb to the highest Lord Shiva temple. The temperature isn’t mind-numbing, and varies form -10 degrees to 10 degrees in winters. The best time to go for this trek in November to March as you will be witnessing the white beauty of the Himalayas.
Triund Trek
In the laps of Dhauladhar mountains, there is a crown jewel namely “Triund” with scenic beauty of Dhauladhar mountains on one side and district Kangra on the other. It is one of the most famous treks in Dev Bhoomi. The route is 10 Kms, therefore it is one of the shortest treks in Himalayas. This trek allows us to explore and enjoy the astonishes of Himalayas. The best time to do this trek is from April to November. The route cover beautiful pine forests in the Himalayas, a perfect sunset on top of Triund. Triund is about 11 Kms from McLeod-Ganj and 17 Kms from Dharamshala. Bhagsu Nath waterfall is the base to your trek. You’ll start form Bhagsu Nath waterfall and it will take approximately 5-6 hours to reach Triund to. And if you still aren’t tired, then you can visit the snowline, i.e., Illaqua Glacier. One of the easiest and shortest treks in Himachal, a total must if you want to have some thrill. The best time to complete this trek is from September to December. The temperature is good during the winters too, it varies from -5 degrees to 18 degrees Celsius.
